BodyRituals – Return & Refund Policy (South Africa)

This Return & Refund Policy applies to all purchases made from BodyRituals and is in accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) of South Africa.

1. General Policy

At BodyRituals, we are committed to providing high-quality products. If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, you may request a return, refund, or exchange subject to the terms below.

2. 7-Day Cooling-Off Period (Online Orders)

In terms of Section 44 of the CPA:

  • You may cancel your order within 7 days of receiving the product, without providing a reason.

  • To qualify:

    • The product must be unused

    • In original condition

    • In original packaging

Important:

  • Return shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility

  • A reasonable handling/restocking fee may apply

  • Refunds will be processed within 7–15 business days after inspection

3. Defective, Damaged, or Unsafe Products (6-Month Protection)

In accordance with Section 56 of the CPA:

If your product is defective, unsafe, or not of good quality within 6 months of delivery, you are entitled to:

  • A repair, or

  • A replacement, or

  • A full refund

Conditions:

  • The issue must not be caused by misuse, accidental damage, or normal wear and tear

  • BodyRituals reserves the right to inspect and verify the product before approving the claim

4. Hygiene & Personal Use Products

Due to the personal nature of skincare devices:

  • Products that have been used, worn, or come into contact with skin may not be eligible for return, unless defective

  • This is to ensure health and safety compliance

5. Non-Returnable Items

We do not accept returns for:

  • Used products (unless defective)

  • Items not in original condition or packaging

  • Products damaged due to misuse or improper handling

  • Clearance or final sale items (if clearly marked)

6. Return Process

To initiate a return:

  1. Contact us at bodyritualssa@gmail.com

  2. Provide:

    • Order number

    • Reason for return

    • Clear photos/videos (for defective or damaged items)

  3. If approved:

    • You will receive return instructions

    • Items must be returned using a trackable shipping method

7. Refunds

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method

  • Processing time: 7–15 business days after the returned item is received and inspected

  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable, unless the return is due to our error or a defective product

8. Exchanges

Exchanges are only offered for:

  • Defective products

  • Items damaged during delivery

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law:

  • BodyRituals shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or loss of business arising from the use or inability to use our products.

  • Our liability for any claim relating to a product shall be limited to the amount paid for that product.

  • BodyRituals is not responsible for damages resulting from:

    • Improper use, misuse, or failure to follow instructions

    • Unauthorized modifications or repairs

    • Use of the product in combination with other devices or products not recommended

Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), including your right to safe, good-quality goods.

10. Legal Compliance

Nothing in this policy limits or replaces your rights under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). If any provision conflicts with the CPA, the CPA will take precedence.
